Imperial Wind

I’ve been advising a (mostly) stealth start-up since January, developing a novel wind turbine technology.  If it works as promised, and there is every reason to believe it will, it will increase the number of turbines and the amount of energy that can be captured from the wind, on a given acreage of wind-farm.  This of course, means that it can take advantage of existing copper tie-in to the grid, reducing cost of installation.  In fact, this new type of turbine has a lower installed and operating cost as traditional turbines.  What’s not to love?!?!

It is always gratifying when one is mentioned in the press.  In this case, Ken Werner, a journalist who has been following my work since the beginning, who believed in me before anyone else took notice,

It can work the other way, though. Candice Brown Elliott’s brilliant Pentile Display architecture was initially developed to improve efficiency, effective pixel density and battery life in laptop PCs using LCDs. Instead, the industry found ways to use a brute force approach and create LCDs with more and more physical pixels, along with sufficient energy savings from improved backlights and energy savings. Pentile waited for years to find its killer app: allowing Samsung to make larger OLED subpixels for a given pixel format, thus reducing current density and improving lifetime.”
